This is just a quick tutorial containing an easy method to get whois data for your website. This guide is aimed at people with an intermediate level of website development knowledge, and a firm grasp of PHP scripting.
Whois is a standard command that looks up a domain name’s details, such as dates of registration and renewal, as well as contact details for the domain’s owner and/or administrator. Many websites offer this service, such as who.is, and most hosting and domain name registration companies will use some incarnation of the whois command to check if a domain name is available for purchase. An error 404 occurs when someone requests a page from your site that doesn’t exist. This most commonly happens when someone mistypes a web page address, eg: comtact.html instead of contact.html, or when a page is moved or renamed, but a link to that page isn’t updated. Read more…

We have recently hosted and developed a website which we donated to a great cause, raising money for North Devon District Hospitals Special Baby Care Unit.
The fund raiser was organised by Peter Ward, who along with Adrian Tucker rode over 3300 miles on their motorcycles, circumventing the UK coastline, in only 14 days. It works out at around 235 miles a day, every day for two weeks, which as anyone who’s ridden a motorbike for an extended period of time will tell you, is not easy. Read more…
